Apple’s iCloud.com Becomes More Customizable With Updates To Photos, Mail, And More

One of the main changes in the new iCloud.com is the ability to customize the homepage tiles, which are the icons that represent the different iCloud apps. Users can now choose what content they want to see in each tile, such as a specific folder for Notes, a mailbox for Mail, or just their favorite Photos. Users can also configure their homepage to show multiple layouts of the same tile, so they can see more content from their favorite apps.

Another new feature is the quick actions from tiles, which allow users to perform tasks such as marking a reminder as complete, flagging an email, or previewing a file in Drive without opening the app. Users can access these actions by hovering over the content and selecting the option, or by swiping left on a touch device.

Users can also enable browser notifications for Mail and Calendar on a PC, so they can get notified of new emails or event invitations and updates. Users can configure these notifications in iCloud Settings on the web.

The iCloud apps have also received new design and layouts, as well as some new functionalities. For example, the Photos app now supports Memories, which are curated collections of photos that users can view and play in full-screen mode. Users can also view their photos in a slideshow mode by selecting the option from the menu.

The Mail app has added two new features: Attach from iCloud and Undo Send. Users can now attach photos and files to their emails directly from iCloud, without having to download them first. Users can also unsend an email that they just sent before it reaches the recipient’s inbox, in case they made a mistake or changed their mind.

The Calendar app has introduced a new feature called Calendar Identity Control, which allows users to control the email address that others see in event invitations. Users can even use their Custom Email Domain to unite their Calendar and Mail identities. Users can manage this feature from iCloud Calendar settings.

The Drive app has added a new List View option, which lets users switch between viewing their files as icons or in a list. Users can also preview their files by pressing the Space bar or accessing the quick view option from the menu. Users can easily access file options such as renaming or downloading through the menu as well.

The Notes app has added two new features: Linked Notes and Shared Folders. Users can now create links to other notes by typing >> or Command + K as a shortcut to add links while writing in their note. Users can also collaborate with others on an entire folder of notes by sharing it with them.

The update also comes after Apple introduced new iCloud+ storage tiers of 6TB ($29.99 monthly) and 12TB ($59.99 monthly), which offer more space for users’ photos and files, as well as access to features like iCloud Private Relay and Hide My Email.

The new iCloud.com is available now for all users who have updated their devices to iOS 17, iPadOS 17, or macOS Sonoma. Users can access it by visiting icloud.com on any web browser.
